Festival or arraial is the set of concerts and evenings that precede the 24th of June.
In recent years, the São João de Sobrado festival has established itself as a benchmark festival with an increasingly attractive programme and nationally renowned artists.
BUGIADA AND MOURISCADA
Fireworks
One of the great attractions of the evenings is the fireworks. They usually take place on more than one night, true pyrotechnic spectacles, but without a doubt the most extraordinary fireworks take place on the night of the festival, 23 June. The beauty and magnitude of these spectacles leave no-one indifferent.
St John's evenings
The definition of the festival and the composition of the programme varies every year and aims to attract the attention of the most diverse generations to the most important day of the festival, the Bugiada and Mouriscada on 24 June.
The São João de Sobrado evenings have seen the likes of Tony Carreira, Xutos e Pontapés, João Pedro Pais, Delfins, Amor Eletro, Richie Campbell, Zé Amaro, Matias Damásio, Virgul, Mastiksoul, Azeitonas, Leo e Leonardo, Mickael Carreira, Augusto Canário, Adriana Lua, Emanuel, Expensive Soul, Boney M, Canta Bahia, Banda Eva, among others.
Festive Lighting
During the festive season, the centre of Sobrado is decorated with festive lights. Since 2018, the decorations have been themed around the Bugios and Mourisqueiros.
Festival 2024
In this edition, the festival will involve all generations around the great names of Portuguese music that have emerged in recent years. It's a vast programme that aims to captivate all audiences. Sobrado is back in the spotlight with lots of revelry, entertainment and music. São João de Sobrado 2024 is waiting for you!
